We are so grateful that Jin-hye Jo and her sister were able to visit the University of Maryland to share their story of how they escaped North Korea. This truly was a moving experience for many of us who attended and relived the journey with her. We can say that sometimes we forget how real the North Korean crisis is; how it affects people like Jinhye, who is no different than me and you. We are very happy to know she is successful and currently residing in Virginia. Jin-hye hopes her story can help people understand the neglect and atrocities that many North Koreans endure while living in the most repressive country in the world.
